The double-acting cartridge for Hiwater RO-400, RO-800 filters consists of high-quality polypropylene with a porosity of 10 microns, granular activated carbon and a layer of high-density polypropylene of 3 microns. Polypropylene removes all mechanical impurities from the water, such as rust, sand and other particles. The carbon filter is used to remove chlorine, harmful organic pollutants, and unpleasant odors from the water. Also, the carbon layer significantly improves the taste of water.
The cartridge is certified according to the NSF 42-2018 standard ("Drinking Water Treatment Units — Aesthetic Effects") and the Water Quality Association.
